Chris Auret – You Have My Word Solo Exhibition in Cape Town

Chris Auret - You Have My Word Solo Exhibition in Cape Town Is on right now and I went there last night in an attempt to at least catch one of the First Thursday events and it was lovely and I managed to take this crummy photo of a small window into his charming work space right there at the gallery *breathes*

Go see it.

It’s got words and colours and sounds and we even got some free wine last night. It’s trippy too and, not to sound too cliche, it puts you in a good space.

See the art at Muti Gallery: 3 Vredehoek Avenue, Oranjezicht. Read more about the exhibition here.

New girl crush – Rosamund Pike’s perfection

Rosamund Pike - Gone Girl

Source.

She looks impeccable. She acts impeccably. She dresses impeccably. We watched the film last night. No spoilers here, I promise.

1. I would recommend watching the film BEFORE reading the book purely because David Fincher has created a masterful piece of filmery and knowing the answers to the story take away from that. Fincher makes me drool at screens.

2. Rosamund Pike’s entire wardrobe from the movie is on my Christmas wishlist. The best parts, obviously.

Thing to do here: go watch Gone Girl. Soon.

Giraffe House – a weekend adventure

I’m sure by now you know how much I love Giraffe House (I’ve only been there 3 times in as many months). This last weekend we took a group of our friends there for a Saturday morning adventure.

I love it there! So many animals to see and feed and of course – a beautiful giraffe called Gerry. Each time we go there she becomes friendlier and this time I even got a big lick on the cheek.

Love the series of pics I managed to get of her:

Hiding Giraffe - at Giraffe House

Licking Giraffe - at Giraffe House

If you dig animals you should definitely go check out Giraffe House.

I Am Party – A Charity event at Zula Bar

I AM PARTY at Zula Sound Bar, Cape Town

A friend of mine is doing an incredible thing. She has committed to wear the same type of tee-shirt everyday for the next year. Why? Because she’s awesome.

Nicole Soekoe wants to help put Nonstikelelo or “Ntskiki” through school. She’s doing this by raising awareness of the cause she’s supporting and hopefully raising enough money to help school this young girl.

To celebrate it Zula Bar is hosting the I AM PARTY next weekend!

The lineup:

Beach Party
Al Bairre
Matthew Mole
Maoriginal
Battle Beyond the Starsa

Go to the Facebook event page here and click “attending”, and if you feel like it share it!

I’m amped to support anyone who wants to help another person get something beautiful out of life.

Hope you are too!
